1. Who is the Massachusetts Site Finder intended to serve?
This site is intended to help relocating and growing companies identify commercial or industrial facilities across Massachusetts that meet their specific needs. This site will also showcase priority development properties that offer shorter permitting cycles.
2. Is there a cost to use this Massachusetts Site Finder?
There is no cost to list or search for properties on the Massachusetts Site Finder. The service is provided jointly by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Alliance for Economic Development (MAED), who manages and administers the site.
3. What types of properties are listed?
Commercial and industrial building and land within Massachusetts that meet the following criteria:
- Buildings that contain at least 25,000+ SF of available space
- Land sites of 5 or more acres
- Land sites that can support a build-out of at least 25,000 SF
The Search page of this application provides a current list of the various property types that are included. Retail and residential uses are not included.
4. How do I list my properties in the Massachusetts Site Finder?
Only exclusive listing agents or property owners can list available commercial or industrial property. There is no cost to participate. There are two ways to apply to list properties: online or via phone. To apply online, just click the Add Properties button on the horizontal navigation bar and click to request access. To apply via phone, call the MAED staff at 781-489-6262 to obtain an individual, secure, company log-in and password. In addition to listing properties individually, most of the major real estate firms in Massachusetts are providing a “batch set” of their exclusive listings to MAED on a monthly basis in an Excel spreadsheet.
5. What if I can’t find properties that match my real estate requirements?
The Massachusetts Alliance for Economic Development will continue to operate a customized site finding service to augment this online service. Just call MAED at 781-489-6262 for a staff assisted site search.
6. Can I add photographs or other visual documents to my listing information?
This website automatically provides each listing with a locus map and aerial photograph. Listing agents or owners are encouraged to supply specific photographs of their buildings or land sites to augment the appeal of the property. Please contact MAED staff for the appropriate specifications.
7. How will the website connect interested parties to the listing broker?
Contact information for the listing broker, including phone number and email address accompanies each property listing.
8. How frequently is the listing data updated?
Listing agents must verify their property information every 60 days, although listing agents and owners have the ability to update individual listings on a 24/7 basis. Demographic data, consumer expenditure data, business and workforce data are updated annually.
